The YSRCP created a one of a kind record by winning 19 of the 25 wards in the Kuppam municipal council, and by unseating the TDP in the municipal, MPTC, ZPTC and panchayat elections, for the first time in 40 years. Now, the YSRCP’s sole focus has become the Kuppam assembly constituency seat, which it is planning to snatch away from Chandrababu Naidu himself, who represents Kuppam.
Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, the big boss of the Chittoor district, has already said that the Kuppam seat will belong to them in the 2024 elections, is said to have recommended two potential candidates for the Kuppam constituency, to CM Jagan. Both of these people happen to be youngsters, who the YSRCP feels is the right choice for the constituency, as they are of the opinion that the people of Kuppam are fed up with Naidu, who is an old man.
It is being said that Bharat Reddy and Sudheer Reddy, both close relatives of Peddireddy, are being considered as candidates for the Kuppam constituency. Bharat is said to likely be finalised as the candidate for Kuppam, as Peddireddy is reportedly vying for him as the candidate. Given that Bharat Reddy is already an MLC, it is now to be seen what will happen at last.
