After returning from Davos, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to go to Delhi and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Needless to say, what is the internal agenda behind the tour is being debated in political circles.
The country is currently making preparations for the presidential election. It is believed that CM Jagan is going to announce his full support to the BJP candidate in the upcoming presidential elections. Even during the previous presidential elections, BJP did not ask Jagan for his support. But the CM especially took the appointment of the Prime Minister and declared his support.
Now, Jagan is expected to go and announce unconditional support as the presidential poll process is set to begin later this month. The NDA does not have an absolute majority in the presidential election. YSRCP support is considered the most crucial. It is worth mentioning that the ruling party of Andhra Pradesh has since 2014 been averse to joining the NDA government, despite being open to offering issue-based support. Let us wait for the official statement from the YSRCP regarding the same.
