Gudur MLA Varaprasad was humiliated during the Tirupati by-election campaign. AP Fisheries Minister Appalaraju, Rajya Sabha MP Mopidevi Venkataramana, and former MLA Poor Mastan Rao bore witness to a blast against Varaprasad by local fishermen.
A gathering was convened at Tupilipalem, for which the Minister, MP, and Gudur MLA Varaprasad were a part. Varaprasad was severely insulted by the fishermen, alleging that he ignored the problems of the fishermen including the Tamil Nadu boat issue. The fishermen raised slogans, asking Varaprasad to leave the meeting.
They got into an argument with the leaders, who were not willing to let Varaprasad leave the meeting. The fishermen, on the other hand, were angry that all politicians tend to love them only during the time of elections. As the meeting turned into a riot, it was quickly gotten over with, and minister Appalaraju and MP Mopidevi Venkataramana left the meeting.
