The YSRCP government had prestigiously announced that it would abolish every single poker den in the state, but the reality remains to be that one of its own ministers is running the biggest poker den in the state, and is minting money, while also leading to a sad state of affairs for countless families in the state. This particular minister in question is especially known for his foul mouth and for abusing the opposition parties.
The SEB conducted raids on a poker den situated in Tamirasa district, on Sunday night, and seized 28 cars and Rs.1 Crore worth cash. The SEB also arrested 30 men who are known to be addicted to poker.
This particular poker den is especially famous because the people who come here are confident that the Police department would not meddle in their affairs, and that they would stay very far away from it, owing to the power that the Minister who owns the den yields. People from all over the state come here to play poker, and most of them are rich and influential people. These people are even accommodated in the convention that the YSRCP Minister owns, and these people are taken to the poker den from their accommodation, in vehicles that are owned by the YSRCP minister.
The people who take care of this poker den make sure that the place where poker is played, is changed every other day, for security reasons, and the place where poker would played on a particular day would not be known until a person gets to the destination on that particular day. This information is kept as a top secret, and is done so with great care.
Ranging from Rs. 10,000, the bets in the poker games go up to Rs. 10 Lakhs, per game. The entry fee into this place is Rs. 10,000, and only 70 members are allowed per day. Several people belonging to the said minister also offer loans to players who lose money while playing, and empty papers and documents are also kept ready for this purpose. The middle men gain a lot of money, by lending money to the players, and the minister too gains a great deal.
The place is open from 5:30 in the evening, to 9:30 PM, and a business of at least Rs. 20 Crores is done on a single day. There are even people assigned to inform the people running this place, in case the Police department chooses to raid the place. People belonging to the Minister have even kept an eye on a Police officer that they most suspect would carry out a raid on the place, and are said to follow the officer throughout his entire day.
