We already reported that the Election Commission of India released the by-election schedule for the Badvel Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh.
Now, YSRCP state general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna announced that late MLA Venkata Subbaiah’s wife Sudha will be contesting in the by-election on behalf of the ruling party.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Sajjala said the by-poll for Badvel would be taken seriously. He said that it is the tradition of YSRCP to give a ticket to the family of the deceased person. YSRCP MLA Dr G Venkata Subbaiah (61) passed away after a prolonged illness. He joined the YSRCP in 2014.
The election notification will be released on October 1. Nominations will be accepted until October 8, and they will be scrutinized on October 11. Candidates can withdraw the nominations on October 13. The election will be held on October 30, and the result will be announced on November 2.
