Akkineni Naga Chaitanya was supposed to work with Parasuram for his immediate next film after ‘Love Story’. However, the latter dropped out of the project after he bagged the chance to direct Mahesh Babu.
Despite Parasuram’s departure, Naga Chaitanya is said to be very much inclined towards the project as he developed a liking towards the story. Even Chaitanya’s better half, Samantha is thoroughly impressed with the storyline and wants Chaitanya to star in the film. So, he approached Vikram K Kumar to adopt the story and direct the film.
Vikram is said to be okay with Naga Chaitanya’s proposal, but he wants Samantha to play female lead. It is said that Chaitanya conveyed Vikram’s request to Samantha and she is in kind of a tight spot now.
Samantha had already signed 5 films prior to lockdown and will have to honour the agreements once the shootings are resumed. It would be really tough for her to adjust the dates for Naga Chaitanya – Vikram Kumar’s film next.
That said, both Samantha and Chaitanya opine that the storyline has all the proper commercial ingredients to succeed at the box office. Now, it remains to be seen if Samantha will re-consider her future projects and adjust the dates for Naga Chaitanya. Parasuram had registered the title ‘Nageshwara Rao’ for this project.
