The fact that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wasn’t exactly in favour of NV Ramana becoming the Chief Justice of India is no secret, as evidenced by the letter he wrote to the previous CJI, in the months leading up to the appointment of NV Ramana as the CJI. As a result, everyone is wondering whether or not Jagan would organize a grand welcome for NV Ramana, during Ramana’s visit to AP in the coming week.
Ramana would be visiting his native village Ponnavaram in the Krishna district on December 24, after which he would be visiting AP High Court on December 25 in Amaravathi and then be taking part in state-level judicial officers conference on December 25 being held at Nagarjuna University. Telangana Chief Minister organised a grand welcome for NV Ramana, after the latter’s first visit to Hyderabad after becoming the CJI, in June, and constantly supports Ramana, in all of his ventures, and even inaugurated the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) in Hyderabad, which was help set up by Ramana himself.
Thus, with Telangana Chief Minister giving such a grand welcome to Ramana, everyone is now looking at Jagan, and what he would do. It is to be noted that Jagan congratulated Ramana when he swore in as the CJI, so it is now to be seen what will happen.
