After the Andhra Pradesh government released the GO No. 35, which limited the price of movie tickets, and also ruled that tickets should have to be bought through an online platform run by the government and that no permissions would be given for any extra, special or benefit shows, some theatre owners lodged petitions against the AP government in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The AP HC suspended the GO and said that theatre owners can sell tickets at their own prices. The AP government has now released GO No. 142, once again stating that movie tickets have to be bought online through an online portal run by the government, at the prices fixed by the government.
The AP government, despite the HC’s orders, seems to be relentless in its decision of the sale of tickets, due to which GO No. 142 has been released. There are several claims that the AP government is doing this in the lead up to the release of Pawna Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak, as they do not want Pawan’s film to get good openings. It is now to be seen if any new petitions will be lodged against this petition in the HC.
