WHO reports: Hydroxychloroquine is not effective

Few months back, Donald Trump came on to the headlines for commenting that the drug Hydroxychloroquine is saving the lives of few Covid-19 patients. At a point, US and few other countries placed heavy orders for this drug and India, being one of the very few countries producing this drug, had to stop the exports for a while to check if the nation has enough of it.

Donald Trump even threatened India with a retaliation if the nation doesn’t supply Hydrochloroquine drug to US. Later on he mentioned that India didn’t ban the drug supply to raise the demand and sell for higher value, but just halted the export to check if the nation has enough.

Finally after few months of trails, WHO finalized that the usage of Hydrochloroquine in Covid-19 has minimum to no impact on the improvement of the health. Along with this drug, WHO recommends on discontinuation of Lopinavir/Ritonavir drug.
