What’s behind Naidu-Jagan confidence levels?

After concluding the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that he is confident of winning over 130 seats. While this sounds as a over confidence, TDP would retain the government after the elections, with a decent number of seats, the analysts opine.

According to the TDP activists, the party is banking on the beneficiaries of the government schemes. Among 3.93 crore voters in AP, Dwcra groups have 97 lakh voters and TDP is confident of grabbing 85% of the votes from them. Those receiving pension are 50 lakh and another 50 lakh are farmers, Naidu is also confident of pulling out the majority votes from both the categories. Another 30 lakhs are youth voters and 10 lakh new voters are identified this time. So the TDP circles are pretty confident about the victory in the elections.

It is after 15 years, TDP contested in the elections, with no star campaigners in hand during the political campaigning. Adding to it, Pawan Kalyan who was the reason for bringing a considerable percentage of voting to TDP in 2014, this time was against the party, which obviously means, TDP loses all the extra votes it got in 2014.

On the other side, YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, referring to the huge voting percentage this time, has said that its indication that the people are willing for a change and it thus means, they are inviting YSRCP government. Jagan has expressed his confidence in witnessing a landslide victory. Moving a step ahead, Jagan in a media interaction, also thanked the voters for turning out in large number for voting and showing love on YSRCP. This stunt has shocked the journalists over there.

But the analysts opine that both the leaders expressed their confidence in public, only to make sure that their voters will not divert from them, but the reality must be different.
