He said the infection was more likely to spread to others through microscopic droplets (traveling in the air) emitted by patients than by touching the surface of any objects or equipment. The spread of the virus had increased again due to increased careless attitude among the public since January as cases were declining.

When questioned if vaccine could curb virus, he affirmed vaccine alone is not enough to control the virus. Just depending on the vaccine and continuing to carry out mass activities without mask would spread the virus. Hence, it is recommended for everyone to continue wearing mask.

“If we are to celebrate the 75th Independence Day in 2022 freely without fear of the virus, we must act with full discipline in terms of public health measures and vaccinations. I am confident that all those over the age of 35 will receive the vaccine by August 15 this year”, hoped Kesrinathreddy.
