The Telugu remake of Tamil superstar Dhanush’s Karnan was officially announced recently. Senior producer Bellamkonda Suresh bagged the remake rights of the film and his son, Bellamkonda Srinivas will play the lead role in the Telugu remake.
But as it turns out, Venkatesh Daggubati was initially presented with the opportunity of starring in the Telugu remake of Karnan but he turned down the proposal.
Venkatesh is already working on Narappa, the Telugu remake of Dhanush’s Asuran. He felt it wouldn’t be right to star in another remake of a Dhanush starrer in such quick succession. So, he rejected the offer.
Bellmakonda Suresh was quick to react and grabbed the remake rights. Bellamkonda Srinivas will start working on the remake project once he wraps up the Hindi remake of Chatrapati.
