The director of the state public health department Dr. Srinivas said that the process of corona vaccination will be halted in Telangana tomorrow.
He said that the vaccination process will continue as usual from Monday onwards. The decision seems to have been taken due to the lack of Covid vaccine stock in the state and the delay in the new doses arriving.
To date, the state of Telangana has received 31,38,990 vaccine doses. Of that, 28,97,90 vaccine doses were consumed as of Friday. 40,540 doses were delivered to the Army.
Another 1.22 percent of vaccines are wasted, according to official figures. The number of people waiting for the vaccine has increased significantly in the wake of the rising number of cases in the state.
