The Telangana Election Commission has given a shock to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan. The Election Commission has ruled that it is not possible to assign a common symbol to the party. With this, Janasena lost its glass symbol in Telangana.
Janasena has applied to the state chief electoral officer to assign a common mark to their candidates in the Khammam and Warangal Municipal Corporations along with five municipalities elections. However, as per the rules, in order to allocate the Common Symbol, one must have contested at least ten percent of the seats in the previous elections.
However, Janasena did not contest 10% of the seats in the recent elections. Against this background, the SEC said the glass symbol could not be assigned as a common symbol. With this, the symbol can be assigned to the Independents in Telangana.
