The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has revealed crucial information that it completed the selection of H-1B petitions through a lottery for FY22.
The agency also announced that it had already sent information to all those selected for the primary visa petition. Eligible candidates are advised to file the petition from April 1. After examining the applications, visas will be issued to those who submit the accurate details.
Meanwhile, the US government issues up to 85,000 H1B visas annually to allow foreign professionals to work in the United States. Every year, after China, most of these visas are obtained by professionals from India.
However, the immigration agency did not disclose the number of petitions received. Last year, the USCIS got close to 2.67 lakh registrations, of which over 60 percent were from India.
