Andhra Pradesh state high court has issued notices to AP police superior officers. The High Court has directed the state DGP and Home Secretary to appear before the court for negligence in promoting a police officer. A petition was filed in the court alleging negligence in the matter of promotion of a police officer.
The court had earlier directed the DGP and the Home Secretary to appear before it under contempt of court. However, two officials filed an affidavit in court stating that he could not attend as they were on election duty. The court expressed dissatisfaction with this affidavit. The two have been directed to appear before the High court on the 27th of this month. The High Court has adjourned the case till 27 January.
