In an unfortunate incident, two vehicles carrying firecrackers for AIADMK leader VK Sasikala’s welcome reception caught fire on Tamil Nadu on Monday.
The incident happened near Krishnagiri toll gate when both the vehicles were stationed there to welcome Chinnamma, who was recently released from Bengaluru Central Prison after serving a 4-year sentence.
Hundreds of supporters and party activists were seen dancing to drum beats and showered flower petals on her convoy as she entered the state ahead of elections. Before heading to Tamil Nadu, she offered prayers at Maa Pratyangira Kalika Alayam temple in Hosur.
The expelled AIADMK leader will stay at her niece J Krishnapriya’s residence in Chennai’s T Nagar area. The latter is the daughter of J Ilavarasi, Sasikala’s sister-in-law. The former aide of J Jayalalithaa was officially released from judicial custody on January 27.
