We are aware that several small and medium budget films are opting for OTT releases, due to the closure of big screens in India.
Now, the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce (TSFCC) has asked Tollywood producers, who want to release films on OTT, to wait till October 2021. A meeting chaired by Murali Mohan under the auspices of TSFCC on Saturday unanimously decided that films should not be released in OTT until theatres are open.
In this context, the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce held a meeting with the exhibitors in which the general body asked the filmmakers to wait until October and release films on OTT if the theatres still do not open.
On the other hand, TSFCC has decided to hold an all-member meeting of the Telugu Producers Council. The meeting will be held on the 7th of this month at the Telugu Producers Council Conference Hall in Hyderabad.
The TSFCC has also appealed to the AP government to reconsider its decision on the issue of movie ticket prices. It said if ticket prices were low, it would be a problem for the survival of the theatres and exhibitors’ sector.
