The Union Home Ministry has asked Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Adityanath Das to take action against CID ADG Sunil Kumar. This is in regards to the several controversial statements that Sunil has made against the Hindu religion and the statements he made in support of terrorist organisations, on his social media pages.
MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, along with an organisation called Legal Rights Advisory filed a complaint against Sunil Kumar, which has been taken seriously by the Central Home Ministry, despite Sunil Kumar deleting the videos, as the downloaded videos had already been submitted in the complaint.
When IAS officers are in question, the biggest form of punishment they could get is a transfer, which is expected to be the case with Sunil Kumar as well. However, given that Sunil Kumar is known to be very loyal to the YSRCP, everyone is wondering if the government will get involved, or if it will keep quiet. Sunil’s work ethics have always been controversial, given that he has been known to side with the ruling party, and to do anything that would appease the leaders of the party in power.
Several complaints have been lodged against Sunil Kumar, including a contempt of court case, with regards to him arresting RRR. It is now to be seen if the government will get involved and prevent a potential transfer for Sunil, or if Sunil will get transferred.
