Strange bedfellows adage becomes a reality in Kurnool

(Online Desk)

It’s no more an adage.  But, now an established fact, if what’s happening in most volatile and faction-ridden Kurnool district, is concerned.

Sworn-enemies, who indulged in eliminating their political rivals cadres are joining hands, sharing dais, and giving lectures during their campaign of ‘good and bad’ politics, while those poor victims blindly believed and followed their leaders, had to cool their heels in various jails across the state.

Look at the way state deputy chief minister K E Krishnamurthy had joined hands with his bête noir Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy, who now been nominated as TDP candidate from Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency.  The family rivalry between these two leaders is well known from ages.  But, today they share dais and seek votes, ignoring the plight of those families, whose family member is serving jail terms for being their loyalists.

So is the case in Nandikotkur assembly segment where Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy and Gouru Venkatreddy, join hands.  Likewise, Kothakota Prakash Reddy and D Vishnuvardhan Reddy in Kodumur, Gangula Prabhakar Reddy and Irigela Ramapulla Reddy patch-ups that worked out to firm up their poll prospects by the ruling TDP as well YSRCP in the district.

It is no secret, if one has to believe locals, the most dreaded factionist Kappatrala Venkatappa Naidu who survived 11 murder attempts was finally got killed allegedly by the faction supported by Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy, little over a decade ago.  As many as 20 were convicted in the case and they all are serving sentence in prisons.

Not so long ago (in 2017), Suryaprakash Reddy’s relative Churukulapadu Narayana Reddy was killed by his rivals, allegedly by those enjoyed KE Krishnamurthy’s family support.

In Nandikotkur alone as many as 100 people were killed in the faction feuds during last few yearsm due to the rivalry between Rajasekhara Reddy and Venkatreddy.

Well, this bon-homie is for good in a bid to bury their faction-feud hatchet, then many feel it is good.  If not, meant for poll prosplects, it’s bad and sad.

Thus far, these strange relationships yet again establish the fact that political class indeed remain strange bedfellows!
