The Andhra Pradesh government shocked everyone when it announced that the sale of cinema tickets should be done online, in a manner similar to that of IRCTC. After the announcement, while there were many criticisms aimed at the government, Tollywood and AP government have come to an understanding, with producers Adi Seshagirirao and C. Kalyan announcing that tickets would be sold online, with increased prices.
The producers are said to have taken to the notice of the government, and to minister Perni Nani, the expenditure and the cost of maintaining theatres, after which the minister agreed to increase the cost of tickets. The tickets are said to be priced according to the government’s wish so that the prices won’t be too high that it would be a burden for the audience to purchase tickets.
On the other hand, the producers clarified that the AP government agreed to consider applications for special benefit shows. However, Perni Nani said in his press meet, that he hasn’t been asked about any benefit show permissions.
