A Tollywood delegation comprising of producers, distributors, and exhibitors met with Andhra Pradesh Transport, and I&PR minister Perni Nani earlier today. Here is all that happened in the meeting.
“We received the assurance from the government of Andhra Pradesh. We were the ones who asked for online ticketing portal. Telugu film industry is happy with what materialized in the meeting. There wont be any benefit shows in Andhra Pradesh from now on,” producer C Kalyan said.
The government of Andhra Pradesh has vowed to set in motion the government-run online cinema ticketing portal at the earliest. About Tollywood’s plea to permit 100% seating and 4 shows per day, Andhra Pradesh government will take the final call after discussing with the health department.
Permitting flexible ticket pricing is still a work in progress. The final decision on the same will be taken only after the online ticketing portal takes shape.
Apparently, the cancellation of special shows was proposed by C Kalyan and a few other producers. The government is yet to decide on the same.
