We are aware that India is currently administering Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield vaccine against the deadly Covid-19.
While other vaccines such as the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V and US-based Pfizer are yet to begin their large scale vaccination process, a report has revealed that the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine may be priced in India under Rs 730.
As per reports, a single dose of Pfizer’s Coronavirus vaccine is expected to be priced under $10 (about Rs 730) in India. This could be the lowest price for the mRNA-based jab globally.
The US pharmaceutical major is now in discussions with the Centre for supplying the Pfizer vaccine.
If we look at other vaccine prices in India, Sputnik V is priced at Rs 995 a dose while Covaxin costs Rs 1200/dose and Serum Institute of India made Covishield is priced at Rs 600/dose.
