The local and municipal elections in Andhra Pradesh recently came to an end under SEC Nimmagadda, who retired on March 31st. Andhra Pradesh’s ex-CS, Nilam Sawhney has now been made the SEC of AP, and she’s already got to work, with planning the Parishad elections, just one day into office.
The notification for the Parishad elections was released in March last year, but the elections had to be stopped because of Coronavirus. Nilam Sawhney, the new State Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh, is currently speeding up the Parishad election procedure and is taking forward these elections, from where they were stopped.
The polling for ZPTC and MPTC elections will take place on April 8th and the counting will take place on April 10th. Re-polling will be done wherever necessary, on April 9th.
