Speaking at a public event earlier today, YCP MLA from Kovur, Prasanna Kumar Reddy belittled the Telugu film industry. He said that film stars make crores of rupees while sitting in Hyderabad and not giving a damn about Andhra Pradesh.
Now, Telugu Film Producers Council has condemned the harsh comments form the YCP MLA.
“It is unfortunate that the honorable MLA has such a wrong conception of the film industry. The success rate in the film industey is 2-5%. Film producers spend crores of rupees to make films and more often than not, they suffer huge losses. There are a few producers who have lost everything and are taking a pension amount of Rs 3000 per month from the Producers’ council. That is how dire the situation can be. It is not right to speak ill of the film industry and its people,” the statement from TFPC read.
