The YCP government in Andhra Pradesh has taken a fiercely aggressive stance on the Telugu film industry. After imposing restrictions on cinema ticket pricing, the government starting seizing cinema theatres over the lack of safety equipment and failure to renew licences.
Now, YCP MLA from Kovur constituency, Nallaparedddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy has made some controversial comments in this context.
“Cinema vallu balisi kottukuntunnaru (Film celebrities are exhibiting arrogance overtly. They don’t care about Andhra Pradesh. They sit in Hyderabad and earn crores of rupees through their films. Poor people are having to pay their hard earned money to fill the pockets of these heroes and producers. Jagan is the first CM to take notice of this and curb the atrocities of these film stars.” Prasanna Kumar Reddy said.
These comments from the YCP MLA have drawn flak from netizens.
