The Bharata Rashtra Samithi, formerly Telangana Rashtra Samithi, has been enjoying an undefeated and uncontested power in the Telangana state ever since the state was formed in 2014. Since then, the BRS has been in power, with KCR as the Chief Minister. This year, the party has been taken to a national level as well, with KCR having tried to form a third front nationally, against the BJP and the Congress. The BRS still continues to enjoy good support among the people of Telangana.
Having said that, it is important to note that everyone thought the BJP would be BRS’s primary opposition in the general elections. However, the tables have turned, and the Congress has emerged as the major player in these elections, with the BJP taking a back seat. From the levels of the BJP members to the recently released manifesto, the party hasn’t managed to create much of an impact in the state.
On the other hand, the Congress party is extensively rallying for support in the state and has released a very competitive manifesto. The Telangana Congress president, Revanth Reddy, is very actively taking place in the election campaign, and is putting up good points. As such, it is believed that there is going to be good competition between the Congress and BRS during these elections.
