Special: Gitanjali’s high regard for Jamuna

Gitanjali lived in Madras for forty years and maintained a cordial relationship with every artiste and said they would have healthy conversations but added “volikpoyentha premalu yemi undedhi kadhu.

She always refers to the great regard she had for Jamuna for keeping her word and selling her property before relocating to Hyderabad.

Many artistes after having learnt that Jamuna is selling her property, approached her and offered more than the market price but she was stubborn on giving it to her.

The veteran actress lived a complete life working in a field where she got satisfaction and marrying a man of her choice.

She had four sisters and a brother and entered the film field as her father faced loss in his finance business. She worked for the Telugu Desam Party because she had high regard for NTR who introduced her in films.

She played Sita and her sister Soorpanaka. While she became a famous actor, her sibling didn’t continue a career in movies.
