Siddharth believes pan-India is an insulting term

Siddharth is one actor who made a name for himself in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu way before anyone could even think about it. The actor has found stardom in Tamil and Telugu, with a loyal fanbase to date. In a recent interview, when asked about his opinion on pan-Indian films, Siddharth had interesting things to say, commenting that he thinks that the term ‘pan-Indian film’ is an insulting term.

He explained that a Bollywood film would never be called a pan-Indian film, and simply a Bollywood film, and it is only the South Indian cinema that is called a pan-Indian film, which is why it is not right. Siddharth explained that no matter which language a film is made in, it should always be called an Indian film. He went on to say that there were several films in the last 15 years, before the pan-Indian culture, that turned out to be national successes, like Roja.

Siddharth says that it is time for the people in the North, and middlemen to not divide films regionally anymore and recognise all of them as Indian films, and not to categorise or consider only Bollywood films as Indian films, as the recent success of KGF and RRR prove that the Indian audience value content over everything else.
