Seven ministers in trouble even after winning TRS election

Even though the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) wins the municipal elections, seven ministers may face trouble, an analysis of the party shows.

Before the municipal elections, TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao warned the ministers at a party meeting that if they fail to deliver the goods in the municipal elections, then they will remove him from the Cabinet.

Based on voting trends, TRS leaders have analyzed the district-wise prospects of party candidates. According to sources, it has found that seven ministers are likely to face a problem. Some are very close to the Chief Minister, and some have inducted into the Cabinet.

Some ministers will get most of the wards in their municipality, but they may fail to get most of the departments of other municipalities in their respective districts. They may fall short of getting a majority of wards and winning the post of municipal president on their own. However, with the help of ex-officio members nominated by the state government, the TRS would win the positions of presidents in some of the municipalities represented by these seven ministers.

TRS is very confident of repeating its success in the ZPTC elections, where it won all the district councils in the state.

A senior TRS leader said that with the voting trend, the party overall is going to clean up in all the municipalities and municipal corporations. He said that Congress and BJP, which are claiming to be an alternative to TRS, are far behind in municipal elections.
