SEC directives be enforced in the case of videography: AP High Court

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has heard a petition seeking to videotape the counting of panchayat election votes. The High Court has directed that if anyone complains, then the counting should be definitely videotaped. The High Court suggested that the election should be held impartially. The state election commission has made it clear that it is already videotaping in troubled and the most troublesome areas. The lawyer for SEC explained to the court that the counting of votes was already being videotaped.

The High Court has directed that the SEC directives be enforced in the case of videography. To date, AP has already completed two phases of panchayat elections. The third phase of elections will be held on February 17 and the fourth phase on February 21.
