SC gives a deadline to AP government on boards!

The Andhra Pradesh government is one of the very few state governments that hasn’t cancelled its 10th class board exams. The Supreme Court of India sent a notice to all those state governments and has asked them to submit an affidavit, with their response. The governments of Assam, Punjab and Tripura have already responded and said that they are ready to cancel their exams if necessary.

The Andhra Pradesh government, however, hasn’t responded yet. As a result, the SC has given the AP government a deadline till Thursday and asked the AP government to submit an affidavit by then and to list the complete details of how it wants to conduct the board exams if it chooses to go ahead with the exams. Several petitions have already been filed against the AP government, stating that the government is playing with the lives of the students, by being adamant about conducting board exams.

On the other hand, the Kerala government hasn’t yet conducted the 11th class board exams and the SC said that these exams can be conducted in September as there’s no necessity to conduct these exams immediately. So far, 21 states have cancelled the board exams in the country. It is now to be seen what call the AP government will take on Thursday.
