Samantha Akkineni’s much-anticipated film Shakuntalam has started rolling recently with the lead actors Samantha and Dev Mohan joining the sets. The shoot is going on in Annapurna Studios for the past two weeks.
The latest update is that the shooting of Shakuntalam has come to a grinding halt after Gunasekhar tested positive for the deadly virus. The director is now in home isolation, and the shoot of the film will resume after he recovers fully.
Shakuntalam is based on Athaparva of the epic tale Mahabharata. Based on the love story of Dushyanta and Shakuntala, daughter of sage Vishwamitra and Apsara Menaka, the film tells about the love affair, secret marriage, separation of imprecation and reunion of the immortal love of the couple.
