Sakshi is still waiting for Rajanna Rajyam!

If there is anyone who were expected to be happy after the formation of YSRCP government, the first in the list would be Sakshi media employees, for the obvious reasons. The contribution of Sakshi employees in the victory of YSRCP, cannot be ignored. It is much bigger than the contribution of the party activists.

With the continuous reporting of Jagan’s political activities and highlighting YSRCP in the channel, the Sakshi journalists were one of the primary reasons for the formation of YSRCP government in AP. This made the Sakshi employees anticipate that they can witness Rajanna Rajyam shortly.

While Jagan took some revolutionary decisions in various aspects after attaining the power, he ignored thinking about the employees of his own media, which is what troubling the Sakshi employees now.

When one of the journalists of Sakshi media was questioned about the changes they witnessed after YSRCP formed government in AP, he said there are rumors that Sakshi employees were given two months of bonus and also Rs. 10000 hike after Jagan became CM. But in reality, no such changes took place in the lives of Sakshi employees. He said that Jagan may not be aware of how disgusting their lives are, without any hikes since long.

On the other side, a post on the social media is going viral, which explained how a Sakshi journalist is suffering in the media house. Getting deeper into the details of the post, it was revealed that Sakshi employees are supposed to receive increment annually in April or May. But for the past few years, the management had been offering increment for every two years, that too a very low percentage. The last increment Sakshi employees got was in 2017 and there is no such hike again till date.

Meanwhile, after V6 channel came up with Velugu magazine, a few of the journalists from Sakshi have joined in the new company, for a salary hike. A few others remained to be in Jagan’s media, after they were promised an increment by the HOD. But reportedly, all such journalists are now regretting their decision. Neglecting the lower-level employees, the management is only concerned about higher level employees and spending crores of rupees on their salaries.

Adding to it, the management appointed a North Indian man as CEO offering him a package of Rs. 2 crore, only because he is knowledgeable in marketing department. He is not aware of anything in journalism and cannot speak Telugu too. Such person trying to dictate everyone, is not going well with most of the employees in Sakshi.

Two people were appointed as his assistants with Rs. 2 lakh as salary each. Two others were appointed to inform CEO, about all the issues happening in the media house and few other petty works. Each director of Salary is taking home lakhs of rupees as salary.

Apart from these, HODs in various departments, general managers and other higher officials are being paid high salaries. It is only the lower level employees who are being completely ignored, the reports reveal.

In terms of circulation, Eenadu stands on the top and Sakshi on the second. Andhrajyothy, Namaste Telangana and a few other magazines are in further places.

While a junior journalist’s salary in Eenadu is Rs. 25000, Andhrajyothy, Namaste Telangana is paying up to Rs. 23000. But sadly it is only Rs. 15000 in Sakshi. Even the salaries of none of the employees, who are working in Sakshi, right from the beginning, are above Rs. 20000.

The reports are rife that, while the employees are supposed to receive increments by now, CEO, along with the director has stopped it from happening. A minimal hike of 6.5% is being planned for the employees this time. As a maximum percentage from the company’s salary budget is being dedicated to the lower level of employees, the management is trying to remove a few of the employees and is thus trying to implement cost cutting measures.

Sakshi employees are anticipating that a few from the management are trying to target lower-level employees, without letting Jagan or chairperson know about it. So the employees are expecting that they would get a right justice if the issues reaches AP CM.
