Rs 55 lakh electricity bill for a roadside tea stall

The electricity bill to a tea stall in Himachal Pradesh gave a shock to the owner. Naresh Kumar hails from the Una district in Himachal Pradesh. He has a small-scale tea stall in Haroli in the Una district. Due to the lockdown, for the last four months, he has not paid the electricity bill as it summed Rs.6702. As a result, the officials interrupted the power supply to his tea stall.

Now, when he thought of paying the arrears online, he opened the portal. The electricity bill in the portal gave a huge shock to Naresh Kumar. It showed that he has to pay Rs 55,14,945 as an electricity bill. He then approached the Electricity Board officials complained to them. Then the officials said that it was by mistake and assured Naresh that they will send the correct bill.
