Andhra Pradesh will have three capitals. On Monday night, the three capital bills passed by voice vote. On this occasion, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that three capitals would be made for the welfare of the state itself. No region will be harmed due to the three Rajdhanis. The government’s goal is for the all-round development of the state. The Amravati capital will not be changed at all.
It will make Visakhapatnam the administrative capital, Amravati the legislative capital, and Kurnool the judicial capital. It will be the first state in the country’s history to have three capitals. Before this, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh now have two capital cities. The proposal of three Rajdhani leaders of TDP created a lot of uproars. On behalf of the government, it said that the three capitals’ motive is to be done equally to every region.
Earlier in the Legislative Assembly, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister B Satyanarayana introduced Act 2020 for the decentralization of Andhra Pradesh and equitable development of all regions. Finance Minister Bugna Rajendranath Reddy proposed to discuss the bill. He said that the government wants to implement zonal development by dividing the state into four parts. There will be three to four districts in every zone. Its goal is to ensure uniform development in the state.
The Finance Minister further said that we would establish a zonal development board. The board will work to speed up development. We have decided to create Amravati Metropolitan Region Legal decisions will be taken in this. Due to this, the Amravati method will be the capital. Visakhapatnam will make the working capital. The Kurnool Urban Development Area will be the judicial capital. He told the House that the Raj Bhavan and Secretariat would be shifted to Visakhapatnam.
