YSRCP rebel MP from Narasapuram, Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, has been constantly saying that he’s ready to resign as a member of the Lok Sabha if the YSRCP fails to disqualify him. He has also been saying that he’s ready to stand against the by-polls and that he’s even ready to force by-polls, if necessary. RRR has also been very confident about his victory in the constituency, and there’s a strong reason for it.
RRR has reportedly gotten some surveys done in the constituency, and according to these surveys, RRR has a high chance of winning in the area, given his following and activity in the constituency. On top of that, the growing sentiment of anti-incumbency in the constituency is expected to add up to RRR’s victory. Also, given that RRR is expected to contest in these by-polls on behalf of the BJP, those votes are expected to go to him.
The Jana Sena and the TDP are also expected to support RRR in these by-polls, whether he contests from the BJP, or as an individual candidate, which would mean that their votes would also go to him. Given that the above-said survey was conducted between November and December 2021, the YSRCP would have to change its game by a lot, to win in these by-polls.
