Telugu Desam Party leader Buddha Venkanna recently made several comments against the Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police, Gautam Sawang, and on Minister Kodali Nani, regarding the casino that he opened during the Sankranthi festival. These comments have now landed Buddha in trouble, with the police arresting him today.
The police initially went to Buddha’s house, on the pretext of getting clarifications regarding the statements he made on the DGP. Buddha had said that the DGP had become the Director of Jagan party, instead of serving the people, and even said that if Nani tried to attack Chandrababu Naidu’s residence, only his corpse would go back home. During the questioning by the police department, regarding the same, Buddha said that he doesn’t regret a single comment that he made.
This arrest caused a widespread uproar in the TDP, with the TDP calling the AP Police vindictive, and saying that they were acting as agents of the YSRCP. The TDP even gathered huge numbers and took up slogans, trying to stall the arrest of Buddha.
