We know Virat Kohli leads team India across all formats, and he is the most successful captain in recent times. But, the latest reports suggest that the 32-year-old cricketer is all set to quit as India’s white-ball captain right after the T20 World Cup.
Going by reports, IPL’s most successful skipper Rohit Sharma will take over T20 and ODI captaincy. For a long time, it is heard that Rohit taking over the charge in the shortest format may bring more success to the team.
Considering his record as stand-in captain with IPL success, the BCCI is said to be planning to appoint Rohit as the new captain for the limited-overs format of the game.
However, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal on Monday rubbished reports suggesting that Virat Kohli is likely to step down as captain of the limited-overs format after the ICC T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli has so far led India in 95 ODIs, and with 65 wins and has a winning percentage of 70.43. In 45 T20Is, he won 27 times while losing 14 times.
