Retired bureaucrats meet Guv, demands for Naidu’s apology

In an unprecedented development, a dozen retired IAS officers, some them who served as Chief Secretaries of erstwhile undivided AP state as well now the residual, met the Governor ESL Narasimhan and submitted a memorandum to demand through him the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to tender unconditional apology for his ‘uncharitable’ remarks against the Chief Secretary L V Subramaniam as well the Election Officials.

“We protest against Naidu’s unbecoming of a Chief Minister for making baseless allegations as well unwarranted remarks against our fraternity. How dare he (Naidu) call the Election Commission appointed Chief Secretary as ‘covert”?   How dare he admonish the Chief Electoral Officer, barging into his office on the polling day?  Haven’t you hurt these officials self-respect?” they asked in their letter submitted to the Governor and appealed to him to prevent recurrence of such ‘misbehavior’ from any member of political class in near future.
