A case has been registered against Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, the Congress candidate from Chevella in Rangareddy district, seeking re-election, for allegedly confining a sub-inspector and a constable , while on duty and assaulting them.
Konda Visweshwar Reddy crossed over to Congress from the ruling TRS just before the December 2018 assembly polls.
According to a complaint lodged with the Banjara Hills police station, the MP allegedly manhandled cops when they went to serve a notice at his office located in Road No.12.
The notice was in relation to Rs 10 lakh cash seizure from his alleged associated Konda Sandeep Reddy near Gatchibowli two days before the ok Sabha polls.
According to police sources, the Cyberabad police had seized unaccounted Rs 10 lakh cash from from Sandeep Reddy, an advocate, possession. They have also seized some indscriminating material relating to poll expenditure at Sandeep Reddy’s office near SN Terminus in Gatchibowli.
In that connection, a SI and cop working with Cyberabad Police Commissionerate went to MP’s office to serve notice and they were allegedly confined in a room and beaten up. The allegedly victimized cops, in turn, lodged a complaint with the Banjara Police, who registered a case against Vishweshwar Reddy.
It is no secret that Konda Vishweshwara Reddy, is on the radar of TRS Working President KT Ramarao, as the former refused to budge to the latter’s request not to leave the party before assembly polls. TRS had to pay the price in the assembly segments of Chevella as a result of his defection to Congress in assembly polls.
The MP is one of the richest and influential family. In fact, the district was named after his grandfather Konda Rangareddy, while his father was former HC CJ.
Sources close to the MP allege that as TRS fear of certain defeat is indulged in filing petty cases misusing the official machinery only to damage the reputation of their leader.
