OTT Movie Review: Orey Bujjiga – A Borefest.!

Movie Name Orey Bujjiga
Star Cast Raj Tarun, Malvika Nair and Hebah Patel
Director Konda Vijaykumar
Producer KK Radhamohan
Music Anup Rubens
Run Time 2 hr 28 mins
Release Date 2nd Oct, 2020

Raj Tarun scored 6 consecutive duds and is pinning high hopes on his latest release, Orey Bujjiga. The film premiered on Aha Video today. Starring Hebah Patel, and Malavika Nair in other lead roles, the film is directed by Vijay Kumar Konda. Here our review of the comedy caper.

Story:

Sreenu alias Bujji(Raj Tarun) elopes to Hyderabad to meet Srujana(Hebah Patel) after his family tries to get him married to another girl. Coincidentally, even Krishnaveni( Malavika Nair) leaves to Hyderabad as she isn’t interested in the match bought by her family. The duo meet in the train to Hyderabad. The entire village thinks Bujji and Krishnaveni eloped together and that impacts their lives to a great extent. The rest of the story unveils the journey of Bujji and Krishnaveni.

What about on-screen performances?

Raj Tarun plays the happy go lucky guy role with good ease. His comedy is timing and dialect evoke a few laughs here and there. Malavika Nair is playing a full fledged comical role for the first time and she does very well. Her acting in the emotional blocks towards the end is very impressive. Hebah Patel makes a very brief appearance and her role does not carry much prominence. Vani Viswanath as powerful lady is in her elements. Comedy artists like Sapthagiri, Madhu, and Satya fail to generate any comedy.

What about off-screen talents?

To be honest, Vijay Kumar Konda used a tempate that is very similar to his debut film Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. In case of his that film, the comedy and screenplay worked out just fine and it kept the viewers entertained. But things go horribly wrong for Orey Bujjiga as the film offers little to no entertainment.

Anup Rubens’s music is quite impressive, but his efforts go in vain, owing to lackluster story and sloppy screenplay. The film is technically sound as cinematography and art direction of top quality.

What’s hot?

  • Good performance by the lead cast
  • A couple of comedy scenes

What’s not?

  • Routine story
  • Predictable narrative
  • Zero emotional connect
  • Painfully long run-time
  • Weak direction

Verdict:

Orey Bujjiga was projected as an out and out entertainer but it offers very little on that front. Not once in its run-time of 150 minutes does this film create excitement. This is just another disappointing film that released on OTT.

Watch or not?

If you wish to spend 150 minutes of your life in anything but a wise manner you might give it a watch.
