Raftaar and Akasa Singh talks about nepotism in the industry

With the nepotism wave that walloped Bollywood in the wake of Sushant Singh Rajput’s shocking suicide, presently overflowing to the music business, the singer-rapper duo Raftaar and Akasa Singh of Kheech Meri Photo acclaim breaks the silence to express their fair share of hardships in the music industry.

Strongly rebuking nepotism and its flag bearers, Raftaar and Akasa insisted their fans and the crowd to stand out for outsiders. The duo also talked about their new collaboration on the musical melody, Naiyyo, about the appreciation it has got and felt jubilant as it crossed 3 million views. They iterated about the trolls that bolster Sushant Singh Rajput after his death, but critcised for not caring when he was alive.

They shared about their aspirations and how they dreamt to reach bigger audience by anticipating every year. Akasa says Raftaar is creative, cool and wise in a candid response to the interviewer’s question. Raftaar also shared that she approaches the song meticulously with a lot of passion as if it’s her first song.

When questioned about his experience and how he coped up being an outsider. Raftaar said, in Bollywood many film makers created their own legacy just like a company. It was more like a department store who endorsed their own product. He emphasised that outsiders should also be treated equally and be given hits by the audience.

He asserted people who never cared for Sushanth’s movies began cribbing and backlashing now. “When Dil Bechara is out on Disney +, but people questioned why it was not in theatres. It’s corona man. No one would release in the theatres. That’s why it was mentioned that the movie is available for both subscribers and non-subscribers”. The rapper added saying that it would be indeed late Sushanth’s last wish to make his movie available to each and everyone and for sure it would bring peace to his soul.
