Director Puri Jagannath worked very hard for a long time on his recently released film Liger, in which Vijay Deverakonda was the lead.
The film had decent expectations at the time of release but turned out to be a huge disaster upon its release.
This resulted in huge losses for the distributors, whom Puri agreed to compensate, as the director felt that it was his responsibility.
The director stated in the complaint that Warangal Sreenu is making the other sub-distributors think that he is not paying them back because Puri owes Sreenu money. However, according to the agreement between Warangal Sreenu and Puri, the director doesn’t owe any money, and it is the former that has to compensate the sub-distributors. Despite this, Sreenu is said to be instigating many other sub-distributors to attack and threaten Puri.
Puri has now filed a complaint against Warangal Sreenu and G Shoban Babu for threatening violence against his family, and for wrongly accusing him of still owing money to them.
Puri has filed the case in Jubilee Hills police station and requested the police to take due action against the two and make sure that no harm is done to his family, as he is currently residing in Mumbai, while his mother-in-law, wife, and daughter are living in his Hyderabad house.
