PM Modi cast his vote in Ahmedabad

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi came out to cast his vote in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections at a booth in his native state capital Ahmedabad.

Soon after casting his vote, with a broad smile on his face, Modi appealed to the people to come out in large numbers to exercise their constitutional obligation, that’s to vote.

He told cheering crowd that the ‘voter ID’ (Identity card) is much more powerful than the ‘IED’ (improvised explosive devise) of terrorists.

Prime Minister arrived at the polling station set up in Nishan High School, located in the Ranip area of Gujarat’s Ahmedabad city, in an open jeep in the morning and exercised his democratic right.

Interestingly, the BJP president Amit Shah is contesting the Lok Sabha election from the Gandhinagar seat.  In the past it was party’s patriarch Lal Kishen Advani, who successfully contested from the seat as replaced this time around by Amit Shah.

The BJP President welcomed the prime minister outside the school and accompanied him to the booth.

Later Modi said; “I feel blessed to have exercised my franchise in this biggest festival of democracy. The power of the voter ID is much more than IED of terrorism.”  With that spirit, he urged people to come out in large numbers to vote in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.

He was greeted by thousands of people on his way to the polling booth, who gathered on both sides of the road on knowing that their leader has arrived and is coming to exercise his vote, from early morning hours.

Prime Minister after casting his vote walked some distance from the polling booth and later had a brief interaction with media persons.  He looked more than confident as he exchanged pleasantries with the media who gathered to interact with him.
