Pawan Kalyan: If people are strong, nothing can go wrong

Pawan Kalyan, the Chief of Jana Sena has spoken to the media about a variety of things, and here is what he had to say about several aspects.

Speaking about the situation of floods in Hyderabad, and GO 111, Pawan said that we should make sure that our environment is safeguarded for the future. A lot of rivers and other canals have been turned to lands in Hyderabad, where buildings have been constructed. Proper urbanisation is not being done in India. Political parties are not reacting as strongly to the situations when they are in power, as they do when they are in opposition. Probably the ground reality changes when you come into power. Since I never was in power, I cannot speak for that. The number of canals in Hyderabad have been greatly reduced, because of which these problems have come up. The 111 GO protects these water bodies, and many trials have been done since 2011 to overthrow this GO. TRS should be very careful from here on, and should make sure that GO 111 is protected. I think this is how such calamities can be avoided in the future.

Talking about the fact that Public Representatives are sometimes being the reason for various norms not being followed, Pawan said that everyone should keep in mind that change is the important thing, no matter what political party they belong to. Rules and laws should be strictly practiced, and commercial buildings should be built only in lands allotted for commercial complexes. There should be enough transparency. The lack of transparency is the main reason for Hyderabad’s dire situation today. Officials should never be scared of anyone, and should stand for what is right, that’s only when change can be brought about. The public should also stand strongly for what is right, and only that is when public representatives will realise who really holds the power.

A lot of foreign industrialists indulge in charity, but the scene is different when it comes to India. About this, Pawan said that he’s spoken to a lot of people who have settled abroad, from India. They all express a great desire in giving back to the people, because the system in the countries they live in, greatly supports these individuals. Coming to India, I have never spoken to any industrialist, or enquired about the ground realities in the country. Only then will I be able to respond on why our industrialists are not able to donate on such a large scale to charity.

I hope that the Goddess Durga takes away all the calamities that we have had to face so far – be it the floods or the Coronavirus. I wish everyone a happy Dasara
