SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’, which was slated to hit the screens on 7 January, has reportedly been postponed once again. It is known that many state governments have enforced many sanctions due to the spread of the newly detected Omicron variant.
Due to several theatres shut down in the north (50% occupancy in Delhi and Mumbai), besides a huge confusion over film ticket pricing in Andhra Pradesh, the makers of RRR have moved out of the Sankranthi race.
The makers made an official announcement about the same, saying that they had taken the decision keeping the best interests of all the involved parties in mind. “Keeping the best interests of all the involved parties in mind, we are forced to postpone our film. Our sincere thanks to all the fans and audience for their unconditional love,” the makers tweeted.
The movie team shared a note, which reads, “In spite of our relentless efforts, some situations are beyond our control. As many Indian states are closing theatres, we are left with no choice but to ask you to hold on to your excitement. We promised to bring back The Glory of Indian Cinema, and at the right time, WE WILL.”
Since RRR is a massive project involving a lot of money, the makers may not release the film until all the hurdles move out of their way. Let us wait for the new date announcement from the movie team.
