Responding to the request of YSRCP, the Election Commission has ordered for re-polling in five polling booths. This has created a stir among the TDP circles who are now going against the EC.
The EC responded to the complaint of YSRCP candidate who said that voters of a particular community were prevented from casting their votes on April 11th. This made EC order re-poll in 5 booths in the Chandragiri Assembly constituency. The elections are scheduled to be held on May 19th in the constituency.
The TDP leaders objected EC decision, saying that it is not fair on the part of EC to conduct the re-poll after more than a month after concluding the elections. They further alleged that the poll panel is in favor of YSRCP, and was ignoring TDP demands for re-poll.
TDP minister Devineni Uma, Kollu Ravindra and Nakka Anand Babu, along with others have submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary L.V. Subramanyam, asking to re-conduct the elections in 19 polling booths in 7 constituencies across Andhra Pradesh.
While the EC is yet to give a nod to TDP’s memorandum, the results of the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to be out on May 23rd, amidst of huge anticipations across the political circles.
