Nokia – Airtel’s 7500 Crores 5G up-gradation deal

Most of the technology companies are using this tough period to enhance their services and to do the maintenance activities. While Facebook joined hands with Jio, another telecom giant of India, Airtel joined hands with Nokia to upgrade the base stations.

In a striking deal, Airtel and Nokia came up with 7500 Crores agreement to install 5G ready base stations all over the nation. By 2028, Airtel feels that India will have 8.8 Crores 5G connections and the network provider is making sure that they are ready for the demand.

As 5G services are not available completely in India, Nokia will be setting up 4G related base stations in 3 lakh locations. Soon after the nation upgrades to 5G, Airtel officials mentioned that these base stations can be easily upgraded to 5G capabilities.

Telecom sector is not much impacted due to the Covid-19 and people are using cell phones and internet while working from home.
