Reacting to the deaths at Sunburn festival in Goa, Culture Minister Govind Gawade said that no one forced anyone to attend the event.
Sunburn Electronic Dance Music (EDM) Festival has been conducted at Vagator beach in North Goa district recently. Due to some unforeseen incident, three tourists have fallen ill and were shifted to the hospital. But the doctors declared all of them as dead.
The opposition parties immediately jumped into the scene. Congress has demanded to revoke permission for the EDM festival and conduct inquiry. Goa Forward Party (GFP) on the other side has sought a CBI probe in the deaths.

When the media questioned Gawade about the criticism on the event, he said that the people go on their own to enjoy at the festival. The government never forced anyone to attend the event.
The minister’s reply is being considered as an irresponsible one with opposition parties along with the netizens lashing out at him. It should be seen whether Gawade comes forward to give a proper explanation to reduce the intensity on the criticisms against him.
